South Dublin County Council has revealed a plan to promote Tallaght Stadium as an events venue that could host up to 20,000 people. Planning approval has been granted for the project which will ensure the stadium meets UEFA Category 4 standards and continue to host European matches in addition to being home to League of Ireland tenants Shamrock Rovers FC. As well as football the stadium hosts a wide range of community activities, which add considerably to the social fabric of the lives of the people of Tallaght. Plans are ongoing to expand the seating capacity of Tallaght stadium from 6,000 to 8,000 at an estimated cost of €2m. Viewing of our spaces is available by appointment.
